Fly fishing in Zillertal
For mountain-stream fly fishers, the Zemmbach is a true El Dorado.
The unspoilt nature and respectable fish population (rainbow and river trout) make the stream, which stretches over about 15 km, a paradise for every fly-fishing enthusiast.
The trout have an average size of 20-25 cm, but there is also a chance of encountering one that is between 45 and 55 cm in length.
In the majority of cases, the water is very clear, unless severe weather conditions such as heavy rains occur. Please keep in mind that you must use barbless hooks for fishing as no trout may be removed from the waters.
Alternatively and under the same conditions, you can fly-fish at Zamserbach by the Schlegeis reservoir, which is also part of the territory.
